Work email for Lead Gen Forms

Last updated: 7 months ago

Lead Gen Forms will prefill the work email field only after validating that the email address in the member’s profile is a work email address. If a work email address is not listed on a profile, the Lead Gen Form will not prefill an address.

The benefits of prefilled work email addresses include:

  • More work email addresses will be submitted on Lead Gen Forms, which improves B2B lead nurture.

  • Improved submission rate compared to custom questions without work email prefill.

  • Clearer insights into work email specific metrics such as number of leads, cost per lead, and submission rate.

When you edit a Lead Gen Form with a work email or duplicate a form and add work email, you can select the Validate work email checkbox to send work emails through our validation process. When the checkbox is selected, we’ll filter out common personal email addresses, such as Gmail and Hotmail, which can help increase the quality of emails submitted, but can also lower the number of emails submitted .

Here's a tip

You can only see work email related analytics when you use the work email field in LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms.

Important to know

LinkedIn allows you the option to block the most-used free email domains (for example, Hotmail, Yahoo, and Gmail) from being submitted in the work email field. This option doesn't block every possible email domain but can increase the number of work emails that come through Lead Gen Forms.
