Create text ads in Campaign Manager

Last updated: 1 week ago

Text ads are ads that only include a headline, brief text, and an image. They appear on the right side or top of the LinkedIn desktop feed.

Who can use this feature?

You must have super admin, content admin, or Sponsored Content poster access on your ad account's Page and creative manager access or higher on your ad account to create a text ad.

Before creating a text ad, create a new campaign and select brand awareness, website visits, or website conversions as the objective. You can also create new ads for an existing text ad campaign by editing your ads

To create a text ad:

  1. Go to the Ads in this campaign page in Campaign Manager.

    • New campaign - If you're creating a new campaign, you'll go to the Ads in this campaign page after selecting your campaign settings.
    • Existing campaign - To add an ad to an existing campaign, you can edit the campaign to go to the Ads in this campaign page.
  2. Click Create new ad

  3. Click the Choose file button to upload an image for your text ad.

  4. Enter an optional Ad name.

  5. Enter an Ad headline.

  6. Enter an Ad description.

  7. Select a Destination URL. You can choose between:

    • Your website - Enter a URL for a page on your website.
    • Your Company Page on LinkedIn - Use the dropdown menu to select a page.
  8. Click the Create button.

After creating an ad, you can:

  • Create more ads.
  • Duplicate, preview and edit, or manage tracking by clicking the More icon to the right of the ad.
  • Choose your ad rotation options by clicking the Gear icon to the right of Ads in this campaign

Here's a tip

After you’ve added an ad to a campaign, it can’t be deleted. If you don’t want that ad attached to your campaign, you can delete the draft campaign and create a new one.

When you’re ready, you can launch your new campaign or save changes to an existing campaign. Your ads will be reviewed and, if approved, are displayed based on your campaign settings.
