Reserve Bank of India regulations and ads charges

Last updated: 7 months ago

All India LinkedIn Marketing Solutions customers must re-verify their payment method via two-factor authentication with their banks prior to any charges being processed. After your payment method has been re-verified, recurring payments for your ad account may continue.

Important to know

LinkedIn is not actively declining your payments or causing card verification to fail.

Re-verify your payment method

After your billing information has been updated and the two-factor authentication has been completed with your bank, any outstanding balances due on your ad account will be charged.

Billing admins need to re-enter their credit card details in their ad account’s billing center to comply with the mandate and complete the two-factor authorization with their bank.

Important to know

To provide the best experience for our customers, impacted active ad accounts were able to accrue ad spend and charges as normal between October and late January without their services being put on hold or suspended.

After two-factor authentication was supported in Campaign Manager, a reminder was sent to pay any outstanding balances due. If outstanding balances can’t be processed in a timely manner, your ad account will be placed on hold until payment is successful.

Recurring payments

For each recurring payment, you’ll be notified by your bank at least 24 hours prior to being charged, with the option to cancel or continue subscribing to the product. If the charge is less than 15,000 INR, then no additional action is required.

For charges greater than 15,000 INR, you’ll be required to give explicit consent to banks before LinkedIn can charge your payment method. Banks won’t process transactions in the absence of explicit consent from customers. Depending on how frequently you’re charged, you may need to approve transactions every 48 hours, week, or month.

Important to know

While payment is being processed, you shouldn’t attempt to edit the payment method or add a new payment method as this will cause the current payment to fail.

Please consult your bank for details on how to give consent to charge your payment method, as this process is not handled via LinkedIn.

Here's a tip

If you continue to experience issues with your payment, please try another payment method. We apologize for any inconvenience.
