saw a post about siffrin letting bonnie wear their cloak and it gave me a really cute mental image so heres this

YOOOO currently cooing at the thought that bonnie used to switch sleeping arrangements a lot between mirabelle and siffren. Only stopped after siffren lost their eye.

mirabelle using a scissors craft and saying a pun as she does because siffrin noticed she gets unusually freaked out by a specific kind of sadness for some reason and he gave her tips on how he makes them seem less scary and mirabelle starts to mutter really bad puns underneath her breath when she attacks them but she yelps it out one time because she gets hit in the middle of it and everyone else just turns and stares at siffrin like "why are you infecting us with your puns dude"

isabeau using a rock craft and saying a bad pun as he does because he's trying to flirt with siffrin without flirting with siffrin and siffrin breaks out laughing at it in the middle of a fight and he gets the anime kawaii face listening to it before the sadness skewers both of them while they're distracted and mirabelle bans isabeau from making puns in the middle of fights anymore while healing them both afterwards

Got sad about Siffrin again.

Specifically the idea that Siffrin is actually generally a cautious person who keeps to themself. Doesn't know how to talk to people because he doesn't have a frame of reference in how to communicate with others since he never belonged anywhere. He survived for so long. Siffrin made sure they could because surviving is all they could DO. What else is there?

It isn't until he has something to lose that he's so reckless. So willing to throw himself in danger for the sake of others. Mainly because they're so desperate to protect this one good thing he has left that he's willing to do anything and everything to keep it safe.

(Which of course, leads to the loops...)

the party will never wake up siffrin the same way twice in a row after once, mirabelle woke siff up in a similar way back to back and it caused them to panic thinking “oh stars im in another timeloop!!”

it can be something as simple as different people waking him up or something stupid like yelling something random each time

siffrin feels bad about making his family do this just to make sure he’s ok but they all assure him its fine and besides, it makes every day unique for the rest of them too!

Fun thing about character with canonical memory issues, if you want to add a part to their backstory, and you ask yourself, "hey why wouldn't they mention it in canon" you can just slap a big old They Forgot as an explanation

Anyway this is about how when Siffrin first started traveling, he worked as a stage hand for a theater troupe.

i don't think siffrin's memory problems would Always get in the way of playing board games that require remembering your own strategy, but i do think that the possibility would freak them out which would cause the problems? like it's his turn and he's like ookay time to continue my strategy. i remember my strategy right? right?? it was high treasures and then trash extras right. or. or was it medium+high treasures and lots of plus draws this time. um my deck looks kinda small so maybe the former?? but wait this is still early game so ofc it's small. but . wait. hold on. what cards are we even playing with again. ISABEAU WHICH CARD DID I BUY LAST TURN 😭😭

although. now that i mention it. isabeau carefully keeping track of siffrin's turns so he can jog their memory would be so cute.

wait or they can literally just give siffrin a little notebook to take strategy notes in. yay accessibility!!! and he doesn't even end up needing to take very many notes but/because having it there helps him feel better <3

idk if it's funny, but going to make it a running gag that Nille is the ONLY one to refer to Siffrin's cloak as a poncho. She's like, that's a crabbing poncho not a cloak.

Siffrin calls it a cloak because it's cooler sounding than poncho. The others follow suit. Mirabelle and Bonnie bc they don't know any better. Mirabelle also in general would find the term cloak much more fitting than poncho anyway for Siffrin's mystique~. Odile bc tbh, she thinks Siffrin forgot the word for poncho and cloak is close enough that she will not correct them. Isabeau doesn't want to reveal that he knows the difference, and Siffrin is correct, a "cloak" is cooler sounding, so he lets it go.

Nille has none of these reasons, and thus will continually call it a poncho. Siffrin doesn't really mind, per say, but it becomes the center of a hot "debate" between the two of them. Or Siffrin messing with Nille and Nille messing with them right back.

my toxic trait is that i never use powerup abilities in video games. like ok yes i could spend a turn using this ability in order to do more damage later but you know what else i could do? just do the more damage right now by using my turn to actually attack
