New to Blackfire... Tons of questions

    Hello,

Hi Autopia, I posted this on another forum but I see there is a dedicated Blackfire section here so I guess I would repost...

I am looking to build my ultimate detail kit and thinking of going with all blackfire products. I saw the S550 detail and it just won me over. My car is a black Acura TSX v6. I have used the DA MF 6" correction kit from megs. So the paint is in great condition, might have some swirls but nothing serious.

    Correction If needed
Blackfire SRC finishing polish can I use the MF correction pad from Megs if not what is reccomended

    Polish
Blackfire gloss enhancing to clean up old wax or residue
probably apply with hand Or PC but what pad can I use?

    LSP
Blackfire WD all paint by hand

    OR

Since the surface is pretty clean can I use the Total Polish and Seal and top it with WD polymer spray? And save about $45.00 bucks....(almost a tank of gas) What would be the durability on this be like 4 to 6 month?

regardless of what I would pick from above, I will be getting the Blackfire soap, rinse-less, interior car products, and tire products.

    Feedback or suggestions?

    Welcome to AutopiaForums!!

Either approach will work (I`m a big fan of the latter - especially in combination with Crystal Seal, aka Rapid Fire).

Yes, you can use MF pads with BF polishes but, from what you describe, wouldn`t think you`d need to. Try black, green or (maybe) white first and see if that gets what you are looking for. If not, then step up.

Create WHIPLASH on paint, plastics, and metal!

    THis?

I am thinking of the latter too now,I already ordered the WD poly spray with duragloss 105, but will end up giving the Duragloss to my brother.

So get the Polish and Seal in one, might pick up the sample of WD All paint protection (2oz 5.99) should be good for 2 coatings, and up keep with poly spray.

I never been so exicited over car care products

Sounds like a great plan to me. Let`s see if we can get you pointed in the right direction!

    Correction If needed
Blackfire SRC finishing polish can I use the MF correction pad from Megs if not what is reccomended
SRC Finishing Polish will work well with the Meguiar`s MF Finishing Discs, but you have to remember to clean them frequently. I would at least take a pad brush to them after each panel, even better if you have compressed air.

I personally would recommend applying the BLACKFIRE SRC Finishing Polish with a Lake Country 5.5 inch HydroTech Crimson pad. Lake Country Hydro-Tech Low Profile 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads

    Polish
Blackfire gloss enhancing to clean up old wax or residue
probably apply with hand Or PC but what pad can I use?
If you are using GEP by Porter Cable I would also recommend the Crimson Pad above. You can use one of our PICK3 combos and save money. Lake Country Hydro-Tech 5 1/2 x 7/8 Inch Foam Pads 3 Pack - You Pick!

    LSP
Blackfire WD all paint by hand
I personally love BF WD by Porter Cable with a Gold Jewelling Pad.

    OR

You can use the combination you mentioned above (BF TPnS topped with Wet Diamond Polymer Spray and get awesome, whiplash inducing results. BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection is going to give you the more durability and perhaps a slightly richer 3D shine.

    Todd Thank you!!

Since the paints in great shape I will be skipping out on the finishing polish.

I will be picking up the TPnS, apply with gold jewelling pad right? If so what size and what backing plate would I need? Can I use the one that came with the PC74xx
What will be the durability of this??
I will also pick up the sample kit for exterior care. I think the 2oz of GeP and 2oz of WB all paint will be good for 2 full details.

So the game plan the first time will be
    Clay again
Apply GeP with pad you recommended
Then should I apply TPnS or the WD all paint? Either one with Jewelling pad?

Then next day apply the poly spray right..

I would think black or light green would be a good choice. 5" pads/bp work better with PCs.

I use a LC Crimson pad with my BFTPS. Then I toped it with Midnight Sun Carnauba wax (by hand) - EASY! Then about 4 days later I coated it with BF Crystal Seal. Now I only touch it up after a WW or Rinseless wash with BF Poly Spray.

This sounds like what I would want to do. BFTPnS Or Duragloss TPP, but top with BFWDAPP, upkeep with poly spray and a rinseless. Now how long can this last before I have to apply the polish again?

Since I already have the Duragloss TPP and the Blackfire Sample kit on its way along with poly spray and other blackfire goodies. Would using the Duragloss instead of BFTPnS make a differ with it bonding to the other Blackfire products?
Or should I just go ahead and get BFTPnS

One more thing Todd, I am about to order, I don`t see a 5.5inch jewelling pad? ITs only in a 6.5 inch. I do have the backing plate that came with my 6" da MF correction kit. Will that fit on the porter cable 7424xp(on order)(I used the MF kit with meguiars GV110 which I no longer have)
Also picked up a 3.5 backing plate with 4inch cutting to get some scratches out of the body kit.

Yes the 6.5 inch Jewelling Pad (gold) will fit the Meguiar`s 6 inch backing plate (the one that comes with the DA MF pads. Meguiar`s also offers a Soft Buff backing plate that has a rubber border around it. This will fit as well, but there will just be a little less room for error (not really a big deal unless you push the side of the backing plate against the paint when the machine is running).

BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond AFPP has a (well deserved reputation) of working on just about everything. I have even heard of users topping it over a carnauba wax! So if you use the Duragloss TPP first, there will likely be no negative results.

The question is, will you achieve the best possible results? If we are talking single digit percentages, that perhaps not. Will it work great? Yes. Will it work even better when used with the synergistic effect we carefully crafted into the BLACKFIRE line with the Wet Diamond Polymers? More than likely.

I wouldn`t go that far! I`m just saying for the absolute best results stick to the line-up.

You put AFPP over just about anything, and the feed back that I have gotten has been overwhelmingly positive.

Re: New to Blackfire... Tons of questions

Hey Todd I am about to place my order (finally!!!) ok I decided on getting TPnS, BFWD all paint, and the Polymer spray.

My last question is, I still have 2 bottles of Meguairs Gold Class Spray wax in my collection. Can this be applied on top of BFWD for a deeper gloss? Or would it just be a waste?
