This is the only picture I can really post of it because it wasn`t in that bad of shape to begin with. The guy keeps it pretty clean, but the chrome was all water spotted, there was definitely a lot of IFO on the entire bike, and most of the work I did on it wasn`t stuff that would have shown up well in before pictures. It took a lot longer than I thought it would, but the owner`s office is across the hall from mine at work and he wanted to come over and have me teach him while I detailed it, so that probably accounts for it.
The funny thing was that I was telling him about some other cars I`ve detailed recently that are going to be in a car show today. He does the bike shows with his Gold Wing and I figured he would be interested in checking this one out. I guess I wasn`t aware you could register for a car show the day of, because as Erik and I were walking around we ran into the bike. lol I`m kind of glad we did because I didn`t get any `after` pictures last night because it was dark.
The process was a QD wash, Clay, light polish with Danase Final Finish, and then Four Star UPP with polycharger. A lot of the chrome was plastic chrome, so I took care of the waterspots with Invisible Glass. The wheels had to be polished with Never Dull wadding. I used Detailer`s Pride glass restorer on the windscreens because there was some paint overspray on them from somewhere that remains a mystery to him. There were also a few things that needed to be polished out on the windscreen where his handle bars rubbed. There was a `HONDA` badge on the front of the chrome above the headlight, but I removed that and the glue with Four Star citrus degreaser and then polished out the chrome with XMT2. The rest of the plastic and vinyl was cleaned with Meguiar`s Quick Interior Detailer and then protected with Four Star Vinyl & Rubber protectant. That is what I used to dress any of the plastic trim around the side car and bike too. I think it turned out really good and I was pleased to see it in a show the day after it was detailed. I didn`t even know he was planning on entering it.
