HD SPEED`s cut compared to HD POLISH? and how is durability?

I used HD POLISH on an entire vehicle for the first time yesterday and loved it. Now I`m considering getting HD SPEED to replace Optimum GPS for one-steps. I like GPS mainly for it`s long lasting protection, but feel it could use a bit more cut for the deeper swirls. So how does SPEED compare to POLISH for cutting ability? And how long does the protection last in normal weather conditions?

Polish cuts more than Speed, I like say maybe 20% more, give or take.



Speed`s durability... I would give it 3-5 weeks, but this is greatly dependent on conditions.



I use Speed a lot, it doesn`t have great durability but the cut combined with the look it provides before wearing off it great.



If you are looking for long lasting protection however, just use Polish then top with your favorite LSP.

Yeah, that won`t work, then it would have about the same cut as GPS with much less durability. In that case, I`m thinking about changing my one-steps to POLISH topped with OCW, won`t take much longer to spray and wipe off the OCW, or maybe Opti-Seal.

Have you tried ZAIO? It has a good amount of cut and lasts in the 4-6 month range, easily outlasting most "durable" stand alone sealants.

I completely agree. I personally hate one seps. My idea of a one step is a polish then a protectant. Have you tried Garry Dean`s Beyond Infinity Sealant this is a fantastic quick sealent that holds up. Its on my car for about 2 months now. I have been playing with it a little. I woud recomend tying it if I were you. Try HD Polish then this. Looks pretty nice!

If you`ve tried Poli-Seal before GPS, I would compare Speed to Poli-Seal in cut. I have never tried GPS or any other AIO; these are the only two I`ve ever used. I stuck with Poli-Seal because it was easier to use and these cars did not require long protection, so ease of use and cut was the only thing that mattered.



I ONLY do AIO services if the client is selling/trading in the car. I mean, they only save $30 for me to use Polish instead and then Opti-Seal, but $30 for a car you`re not keeping is a better idea.



I can`t imagine getting a monthly maintenance client (that would be awesome), and I wouldn`t let anyone leave without a separate layer of protection, which I would then use Polish first. Polish/Opti-Seal combo is my #1 best seller and $ maker. I don`t even tell people about AIO services until they mention selling/trading in the car. Other than that...I sell them on the #1 combo.

While I share your enthusiasm for ZAIO (and give you a for suggesting that I try it!), I never seem to get much of any cut out of it :nixweiss More like a paint cleaner to me, and I figure the abrasives just make it more user-friendly. But OTOH, it *does* mar the [crap] out of certain exterior plastics that I use other AIOs on...funny that I don`t seem to get any correction out of it :think:

Thanks Quenga, but I don`t think I`d use it so I wouldn`t want to put you out the few bucks for shipping. I`ve got some Poli-Seal I can use if they are that similar. Thanks for the offer!

I`ve thought about ZAIO, but I`ve heard the same, the cut is good for light marring, but not the deeper swirls I need to get out on a regular basis. I`ve got tons of GPS left so I`ll just use that up for the lightly marred stuff, maybe try ZAIO for that stuff after I use up the GPS.

I`m using it primarily on GG orange pads (similar to LC Tangerine HydroCut). About the only "cut" I`ve observed from it is a little improvement on a previously-corrected finish. Maybe it`s how I`m using it...like, I`m not being aggressive enough. That could be, I`ll have to experiment a little and see if I can get it to do more.



Eh, funny how experiences differ, guess there are a whole lotta variables.
