I see reference to this often. What do I use to mist the pads? Water? Or is there a special solution?

Pad conditioner. This forum sponsor sells it. I`ve been using a little QD spray.

no point in doing it when using a pc though

I dont even do it when using my rotary and a polishing/finishing pad and polish, never seen the point.

I do do it when using aggresive pads on my rotary though for some extra lubricity.

I think it works very well when using a PC. It is kind of like starting in the middle. Meaning that when you start, the pad never moves quite as good as it does when you have done a few panels. I use the XMT pad conditioner and it works great.
