What works best for cleaning interior glass? Right now I`m using a Meguiars microfiber glass cleaning towel. It works great for not leaving straks, but in the sun I can see little fibers left on the glass from the towel. Could someone reccomend some glass cleaning towels that will not shed fibers behind?

I recently switched back to surgical huck towels for windows. I paid $37.50 for 50 from raglady. They are fantastic for glass and last a long time.

pakshak has those particular ones, but you can get virtually the same ones made by Viking minus the difference in color at your local k-mart, kragen, etc..

BigAl, do the towels you use leave little small piece of fibers dust on the glass? I hate it when they get left behind at really stand out when the sun is shining through the windshield.

i haven`t really experienced any fibers/lint left behind using these. it also could be due to the fact that there is a low nap and the strands aren`t long like traditional mf`s...

as a matter of fact ... i just went into the bathroom and sprayed some invisible glass on the mirrors (they`re kinda dirty from toothpaste overspray ) and wiped away with the edgeless mf and looking at the mirror closely, it did not leave any linting behind...

I have found the Pakshak glass towel or the 2 pack of Micro tek white micro fiber towels from Walmart to be the best. Both towels have a raised nap that seems to cut through the grime better.

I had horrible experiences with the Meguiars microfiber glass towel. It linted like crazy. I eventually used it to clean and wipe down my door jambs.

I am not sure how to explain this because its a very basic labeled towel.

I went to autozone and they have these NEON GREEN type Microfiber towels.

    Looks like this:

But basically they are labeled "glass" towels in MF form, but arent like the MF pic you see above. the THREADING is soo thin that the texture almost feels like plastic, or a skin type of texture. But they are about $7-$10.00 for the two and are amazing.

Sorry I couldn`t be much help. But there are MF made for glass, cleaning, polishing, etc etc. Just gotta know where to find em. Pep-Boys and Auto Zone seem to be stocking up on them nicely.

    Good luck.

How about blue shop towels? I use them all the time to save on dirtying up my MFs. They seem to not harm glass, scratch or otherwise and they`re throw away. Use one on windshield, one on each side and one for rear window. 4 total and you`re done.

Any negative thoughts on using these types of paper towels?

I think the goal is to get a low-nap (thin) MF because thin MF`s generally provide better cleaning power. Most don`t leave lint.

With so many people recommending surgical huck towels, I feel compelled to post a YMMV caveat.

A fellow Autopian was generous enough to send me a pair of them. IME (and in his too, we discussed it) they leave a *LOT* of liquid window cleaner behind on the glass, requiring a follow-up with something else. Good for the initial work and lint-free, but not a soup-to-nuts winner like my WWs for glass were before they started linting.

For the final wipe, I keep going back to the polypropylene window towels from Griot`s...but I`m probably gonna keep buying WWs for glass and I`ll just retire them when they start to lint.
