ok I took my car to a detailer so he could look at the bad water spots that i have on my car. he went and got this black aerosol can and sprayed on the hood and wiped it and it took the spots right off. my question is does anyone know what it was he used? it foamed up when he sprayed it. I am taking it to him next wed so he can get it all cleaned but i just was wondering what it was.

    thanks

Could have been anything from aerosol window cleaner to oven cleaner, both of those fit your description ....really hard to tell with the limited information we have. ;-)

so would oven cleaner take off water spots? sorry i cannot offer anymore info on the can, but i doubt a detailer would use oven cleaner on a car...maybe i am wrong but i doubt it. would bug and tar remover take off water spots?

    thanks

Never assume when it comes to detailing. For all he knows he boss told him to use that Or something along those lines. You;d be amazed how many detailers out there have no idea what products they use actually do. It could very well be oven cleaner (lets hope not)

well it was the owner of the detailing shop that did it...he comes highly recommended...after he sprayed it on he took a sponge and it took off the water spots and the spot he did is all smooth...he then put a coat of wax on it when he was finished.

Why not just ask him what he used? ... I always show my clients what products are used if they ask. I don`t have any secrets from the people who trust me with their vehicles.

I`m not saying he did use oven cleaner ... I`m just saying it`s nearly impossible to tell from the limited information we have.
