mparker, thanks. I have a few more pics but it doesn`t seem to matter as you already ordered. The owner was very pleased with the results as the trim now has a very natural (just out of the mold) look to it.

Yes. The trim beads water like crazy when it gets wet.

I think with trim dressing, YMMV (your mileage may vary) very similar to how some tire dressings work great on one set of tires but suck at another. Because every make of car has a different kind of plastic or rubber, I don`t think I`ll ever be able to find one product that will work in every situation.

For example, I`ve used DG`s Rubber & Flat Black bumper dressing and that stuff works great on my neighbor`s car. I applied it to the plastic trim area in front of the windshield at probably 8 months or so ago and that thing is still black, when it was gray to start with. Her car sits outside 24/7 just like mine.

But on my car, a couple of minutes after applying it the trim looks gray again. I should probably keep applying it until it won`t soak up anymore, but I don`t have that kind of time. To be fair to the product, other products suck just as bad, if not more. My trim just doesn`t seem to like whatever dressing I use.

Based on DavidB`s claim, the Ultima trim dressing/sealant sounds promising, but it`s just too much money to spend to see if it`s the product I`ve been looking for. It`s bad enough losing $5-$10 for a bottle of trim dressing product, but I`d cry if I spent $40 on something that didn`t work as expected.

I think it`s time for me to just dye my trim.

The exception is that DavidB will refund your money if you aren`t happy.

A lot of products offer some kind of "money-back guarantee", but it doesn`t necessarily mean it`s a great product. I`m not knocking the Ultima trim product, I`m just saying that most people probably don`t bother returning a lot of products that didn`t work for them because it`s just more hassle for them to deal with.

It wouldn`t be so bad if I could buy it at Walmart and take it back, but since it has to be purchased online, I have to call or email to get an RMA. Then I have to do return shipping which in many cases (not sure about autopia-carcare.com), is up to the consumer to pay. I just don`t think most people will take the time to go through that trouble. I`m sure you have some detailing products that just didn`t work for you but you never bothered returning.

For $40 I`d have no problem making time to return it. Your complaint is the money and you can get that back. Then your complaint is sending it back.:nixweiss

My complaint is that the price of admission for any Ultima product is too high.

If it was priced correctly from the beginning many of us wouldn`t have any issue spending the money to try out a new product. If it didn`t work, then we lose that money. It wouldn`t be the first time this has happened to anyone.

And despite about what DavidB is saying how Ultima is "flying off the shelves", it sure doesn`t seem that way when there really hasn`t been all that many reviews of the products. We have a couple of users posting multiple C&B, but that`s about it. Compare this to other fairly recent new releases like CS,Z-AIO, Poli-Seal, OS, all of which had more user feedback when they were first released. I don`t want to be a guinea pig if I`m spending that kind of money.

It`s priced too high *for you*. The trim you see posted above paid for the whole bottle and you can`t tell that any has been used. From my experience, it`s going to stay looking just like that for a while. When it`s in need of being treated again, guess what?

The product has a 110% money back guarantee. You won`t know if it`s worth it if you don`t try it. If you`re not going to try it then please stop whining about the price.

Ok, it`s priced too high for me.

Now where are the other reviews and feedback, besides yours and a couple others?

Does everyone that buys a product post to this forum? Do you have *any* clue how many people read, buy and use many of the products here and have 10 or less posts? Any clue how many people buy a product and never mention it? I don`t either. I *do* have a Metabo and there`s only one other post than this one that I mention having it. Is it not popular because of that? Well, maybe they don`t sell well so......

I don`t post reviews of all the products I own either, but I`m just comparing it to other recent product releases and whether those other products were hyped or not, that`s for another thread but there was enough talk and feedback about it, enough to where I decided for myself I want to give it a try too if so many people were raving about it. But since it has been released, I haven`t seen enough feedback on any Ultima product (especially the trim product and the interior sealant product) for me to say, "I have to have it!"

It`s like the PS3. That thing was so hyped up when it was first released. Like you, I was trying to order my PS3 off of Costco.com to resell. You got lucky, my little brother got lucky, I didn`t. It didn`t take long for that hype to die down because soon after there was plenty of stock. Many of us would *like* to have a PS3, but it`s still overpriced. Yes, you are, or were, getting a lot of machine for the money, especially when Blu-Ray players were $1000. But ultimately the price of admission is still too high for most people.

Overpriced is relative. I don`t for one minute regret my purchase of either the Ultima products or my PS3.
