Typically, how long does a bird bomb need to sit and dry on your paint to negatively affect the paint?

What kind of window exists where maybe there is no potential damage?

    5 mins? 1hr? a day? etc....

It all depends on what the bird had to eat and how well the car is protected with a wax or sealer. I`ve seen bird bombs etch in less than 4 hours and I`ve also seen them baked on a car for weeks w/o doing any damage.

Best bet is to keep your car waxed or sealed and get the bird bombs off asap. A lot of us carry a small bottle of QD and some MF`s with us just for that reason. Another word of caution is the bird often eats grit to aid in digestion, so try to flush rather than rub if possible.

In addition to the above, I believe the temperature of the surface after the bomb hits has a lot to do with it. The hotter, the faster it causes damage. Remove ASAP, as stated above.

ohh yea, the hotter the paint is the more and quicker the damage will occur.
