IMO holograms are not possible with any dual action machine

Maybe if you tilt it at like 45*, push hard and go at speed 6 there would be something... I can`t say for sure but I`m with the 2 posts above... it`s just not possible because the edge of the pad is never hitting the paint in line like it does with rotary...

But note that it *is* possible to produce what I term "pseudo holograms" with non-rotary machines/methods.
Make sure all abrasives get broken down before buffing off their residue and note that(generally speaking) that buffing oughta happen before the polish is completely dry.
Watch for oils/etc. that can leave (or conversely, can conceal) issues that are sorta hologram-like.
