Well, yesterday afternoon, I was delighted to see my new PC arrive at my doorstep! Now I`m all ready for my fall/winter detail. Here`s the process I think I`ll be doing. Let me know if anything is terribly wrong and/or could use improvement

I`ve got a 2002 Mercedes-Benz C230K with a fantastic finish, only very VERY minimal micro-marring on part of the hood and the spoiler. Here`s what I`ll be doing...

Wash (does it have to be Dawn?)

Clay (California Clay Bar or Clay Magic?)

    Meg`s #9 (How would I remove that?)

    AIO

    SG

    And boatloads of S100!

Let me know what you all think!

    Thanks!

    vaca222,

Your plan looks pretty good to me. However, let me give my $.02 here. I would suggest 2 coats of AIO and 3 to 5 coats of SG to get the best out of the finish and then top with S100. Apply the 2nd AIO coat right on top of the first coat without buffing in between. Then go with the SG. You do not have to wash with dawn because AIO will strip anything that`s on the paint anyways. Now, for Megs #9, just work it in, buff with a MF towel and then on with the AIO steps. You may also want to add a finer polish step prior to AIO. Like Megs #81 Professional Hand Polish, but that depends on how far you want to take it.

You will have one killer shine either way!

BTW, how will you be applying your products? By hand? PC? Rotary?

Thanks for the info! I was thinking about putting on a finer polish, but I wasn`t sure which to use. I`ll consider the Meg`s #81!! I`ll be doing with with a PC (Finally!!). Any recommendations as to which pads I should use? I was thinking about using the White and grey pads from CMA....

Those pads are perfect. Get the contoured ones (made by Lake Country). You could also get them from topoftheline dot com (cheaper). Use the white pads for the #9 and AIO. #81, SG and S100 so on easy by hand so no need for the PC. You could use a gray pad for the AIO, either way is fine. When I use the white pad I find it cleans a bit better, but maybe it`s just a mental thing. :xyxthumbs
