I just got my car back from the body shop after my run in with a deer. Anyway..my body guy painted the new bumper, fender and blended the door to match the paint. Now I know I can`t really do much with those for 3 months or so until the paint completely cures. I had just spent some cash for the zaino shine the week before I hit the deer.

Anyway..will it look really bad and ghetto to zaino the whole car except for the freshly painted pieces? I`m assuming you`ll be able to tell a difference...or you better be able to for what I paid for this stuff. Bad Idea? Ok? Help! :bounce

YOU may be able to tell but I bet not that much. The freshly painted area is so clean and prestine now anyhow that I bet it`ll look just fine.

I had my car fresh from paint and after 5 weeks my neighbor backed into the quarter panel.

Needless to say I AIO/SG`ed it anyway. I couldn`t help myself!!!

Now my car`s going back to the shop and it`s got AIO/SGx2/Natty`s on it. I wanted it to be protected while the painter has it. That`s just to keep my peace of mind while he has my baby Rosita...

If I were you I`d Zaino the non-painted parts to protect them from other damage and to get a chance to work with the products (if you haven`t already)

As for me, I`m using the time my car will be sitting curing (and dirty, ho-humm...) to detail other cars and to get even from the amount of stuff I already bought!!!

I keep trying to tell myself that it`s the protection value that I value most..but I`d just be lying. I want it to look it`s best and that`s way more important than the protection factor. But i`ll still do it anyway if it ever gets nice again.

I was in the same boat after *my* deer incident. The undamaged part of the car looked super and I wondered if the newly painted areas would look different. Short answer: only to me.

When you Zano the rest of it, be careful you don`t inadvertently Zaino some repainted areas where it was blended.

Use something like Meg`s #3/#5/#7/#81 or IHG or Mother`s Glaze (my fave is Meg`s #5) on the repainted areas. It won`t *quite* match your Zaino on the rest of the vehicle, but nobody`ll notice except you. Right now I`m doing this on my wife`s car where I had a little paintwork done.
