I have a 2 SUV`s to SMR and get into showroom condition in the upcoming weeks.

One i hope to buy which is pictured below.

So i wanted to a plan of attack and be ready for them. Here`s one of them.

They have that roof rack/luggage rack thingee which makes my life quite difficult.

Regardless, under that area i`d have to do by hand..

But what do you all used to get enough height and balance to step on in properly SMR`ng the top ??

I have a little rubbermaid three step , but its still too short ?

2nd question: What other good SUVs detailing tools should I now include in my arsenal ?

    Thanks for your suggestions..

This LINK is old, dunno if it`s still work right. I have two of these, one for each side of the vehicle. That`s the only thing different for be when doing tall/big vehicles.

Make sure your speakers are on. You can buy the plank at additional cost.

Looks like a neat ladder at a reasonable price.

As long as it locks into place and you don`t weigh as much as Rosie ODonnell, you should be fine.

I may buy one once the cash flow allows.

As far as SUV tools, you can check out these:

As for the luggage racks, sometimes the cross pieces come off. If you can remove those pieces, it makes life much easier. The Costco in my area (Northern VA) has a nice platform right now.

I have a lightweight aluminum stepladder that raises my height 22" I think. I got it at Menards for $30 or so.

I use mine every day. When its not for an SUV`s top-side, it makes for a nice work bench to hold supplies half way between my van and the vehic. OSH=$35 by Polder.
