it`s difficult to show the luster of an iced out car in Black and white. I have about 3.5x2.25 inches to design an ad for this publication and I`m having a hard time....let me know what you guys think.

Personal opinion, I think it looks great ! Is it going in a magazine or a newspaper type publication ? If it`s a newspaper type publication, then of course the printing process will significantly affect the quality of the ad, but I`m sure any potential customers will understand that it`s the printing, and not your ad that is to blame. I`d go for it, it`s a good ad ! Only thing I might change is the web site address and where its placed and sized. I`d make the lettering not touch the border of the box it`s in, and I`d make it a bit bigger if possible.

    Great work!

To the average car owner out there, the "car" in the visual above might not INSTANTLY register in their minds as a car or a portion of a car.

Perhaps you can use another visual where the "car" is instantly identifiable by an average person, without hvg to read any copy first.

Just my 2cents, buddy..and not meant as any criticism.

Errr...oh yes, I`ve been in the advertising industry for too many years!!! LOL LOL...

see, that is my concern too-i just thought if i used a full car shot that someone might glance over it thinking it was a porsche/bmw/MB ad before reading the copy.

Thank you all! I have thick skin-I have been doing graphic/web design for almost 10 years now and quit that to pursue detailing over the spring, so i value all sides of criticism.

    i like it man

if it looks that crisp on paper then i think you`ve pretty much got it down

dont know if thats the actual size you`re going to print, but the phone number`s a little hard to read

so check this out. i sent the original ad concept to the pub`s rep and she told me "It`s not working at that size...how about a 2x ad space for the same price?" so i designed a horiz and vert version...I can`t figure out which i like more????

After 2 seconds of comparison, horizontal stands out more, IMO.

I like the horiz one better as well. I would change the text to "... detail your car at your location, on your time." it shortens it up a little.
