Starting a Detail Biz.

Ok if the pros had everything striped and had to start over(Sounds like something one of us had to do already) and was given $1000 what would you buy.

Now list everything out no lumping MF in one swoop unless your just going to give it a number like $100 to MF.

You would be smart to spend:

$800 on business education

$200 on detailing supplies & products

I would shoot for something closer to $100,000 for a 4-year business degree

According to Peter Drucker (management mogul), entrepreneur`s in the near future will no longer be able to lead by charisma and determination. A solid skill set of business fundamentals and a college education will be the building blocks to a successful business on top of your motivation and respective trade. There is so much competition out there now-a-days, you would be shooting yourself in the foot to think of skipping college (speaking as if you were in HS now).

You would get a kick out of how many funny looks or "and you`re cleaning cars?" comments I`ve gotten when people find out I have a a Bachelor`s degree.

Unless you are going for a very specific degree (i.e law, medicine, etc.) a Bachelor`s or even a Master`s is a rubber stamp. Nothing more than a way of opening doors to a different pay scale in the corporate world. I will argue that it will always be the street savy, determined and charasmatic person (regardless if they have a degree or not) that will be the CEO of the next generation of Fortune 100 companies.

Talk to me in 10 years when you`ve been out in the mix and you`ll see exactly what I`m talking about my friend.

That sounds like something someone might have said to his friend 3 decades ago as they sat in their garage coming up with the idea that everyone should have their own personal computer. Of course, that was after they both dropped out of college and quit their day job too.
