Manage your profile Experience section

Last updated: 10 months ago

You can add, change, or remove a job, internship or contract position among others in the Experience section on your profile. You can also add different skills to each experience, which will appear under the Skills section as well.

Associations with organizations in the Experience section of your profile must be accurately labeled and must reflect professional experience with the named organization, such as employment, contract work, official internship or volunteer experience, board service, among others. Informal associations or non-professional experience with organizations shouldn't be included, such as a customer or user of an organization's products or services.

If you’ve created a profile in another language, your secondary language profile won’t automatically reflect the changes you make to your English-language profile. You’ll need to manually update your secondary language profile if you make changes to any positions listed in the Experience section on your profile.

If you don't have any positions listed on your profile, the Experience section won't appear.

To add the Experience section and a position(s):

  1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage, then View Profile.

  2. Click Add profile section button in your introduction section.

  3. Click Core dropdown, then Add position.

  4. In the Add experience pop-up window, enter your information into the fields provided.

  5. Click Save.

Repeat the above steps to add more positions to your profile.
