Creating inlets
- [Instructor] So now that we know where the inlets need to be, let's go ahead and place them in the design. Now, in a lot of cases, especially when you're working with roads, you would create the inlets and the pipes at the same time, but because of the irregular nature of many site designs, I find it's better to go ahead and place the inlets first, and then after you see the inlets in place, the picture becomes more clear as to how you're going to connect them together. So that's how I'm going to do it in this case. We're just going to insert inlets, no pipes. Now to get started, I'll go to the Home tab. I'll go to Pipe Network, and then Pipe Network Creation Tools. I'll call my network Storm 1. I'm going to use the Storm Sewer parts list. For the Surface, I'm going to use a surface called EG and FG, and you can't see the surface. You can see the EG contours, and you can see the FG contours, but what I've done in the background is I've created a brand new surface called EG and FG. I…
