- [Instructor] There are some best practices that you should follow for descriptive analytics. First, there are various reporting solutions in the market. Some are pre-packaged. Some are custom built. Choose a product design custom reports based on your business needs. Pre-packaged software cannot be fully customized. On the other hand, building custom software can be quite expensive. Second, when building reports, focus on the key metrics. Sometimes users strive to put too many segments and profiling variables in a report. This dilutes the analytics and might hide some important key trends. Third, when scheduling and exporting reports, send key metrics only to people who actually use them.
