Describe the data classification capabilities
- Describe information protection, data lifecycle management, and data governance capabilities of Microsoft Purview. Here we describe the data classification capabilities. Microsoft Purview classifies data by using RegEx, Bloom Filter and machine learning models. It supports both structured and unstructured data. The following are the supported system classifications in Microsoft Purview. So we can have things like city, name, country, date of birth, email, ethnic group, geolocation, a person's name, US phone number, US states, US zip code, et cetera. Microsoft Purview classify data by using Bloom Filter-based classifications such as world cities and countries, and machine learning-based classifications such as a person's name, person's address, gender, or age.
