- Let's recap this section. You should now be able to describe the security and compliance at a very basic level. We've talked about shared responsibility model, the model that defines the security responsibilities of both the cloud provider and the customer. We've talked about defense in depth. This is the security strategy that involves using multiple layers of security controls to protect against different types of threats. We also dug into Zero-Trust model. This is a security model that assumes that all network traffic is potentially malicious and requires verification before granting access. And then we looked at encryption and hashing. Encryption is the process of converting plain text into coded message to prevent unauthorized access, while hashing is the process of converting data into a fixed length string of characters that represents the original data.
