Module two: Introduction

- In module two, we will describe the capability of Microsoft Entra, formerly known as Azure AD Microsoft Entra is a family of multi-cloud identity and network access solutions that provides secure access to any resource with a unified security operations platform, which is also embedded now with Microsoft Security Copilot. It offers a range of products such as Microsoft Entra ID, Entra Permissions, Management, Microsoft Entra Verified ID, Entra ID Governance and Entra Workload ID. With Microsoft Entra, you can protect an identify and secure access to any resource with a family of multi-cloud identity and network access solutions. It provides a single place to secure identities and access, protecting your digital everything. You can implement consistent security policies for every user, employee, frontline worker, customer, partner, as well as apps, devices, and workloads across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. Microsoft Entra also helps you discover and rightsize permissions, managing access lifecycles, and ensuring lease privileged access for any identity. It reduces IT friction and improves the hybrid workforce experience with seamless access to any resource, single sign-on, user self-service management, and automated lifecycle workflows. In this module, we're going to describe the function and identity types of Microsoft Entra. We're going to look at authentication capabilities. We're going to describe management capabilities, and then look at how we use identity protection and governance across Microsoft Entra. In this module, we'll discuss in lesson three, the function and identity types of Microsoft Entra In lesson four authentication capabilities, the Microsoft Entra ID. In lesson five, access management capabilities of Entra ID and lesson six, looking at identity protection and governance capabilities across the product.
