360 video: Why use drones?

(upbeat music) - So in recent years there's been a really surge in this new technology called 360 and VR. And where a 360 or VR video is or photo is that, you can pan and tilt in any direction and still get a view. This is great for if you're viewing with the Oculus you see this more commonly in Google Maps. And the great thing about it is they started adding this to drones so that way you can get a bird's-eye view of the area in a 360 environment. - [Woman] That's right Francis and what a 360 video really does for the consumer, so whomever is watching the video, is that they can pan and tilt whatever they want to know where the editor wants them to see, but where they want to see. - Yes, that's right. And it's very interactive. And with a bird's eye view, by attaching it to the drone just makes it even way cooler and places that are more applicable to this is if you're doing travel videos, you'll be able to show people areas parts of the world in a 360 aerial view. Golf course has benefited from this so they could show off their courses. Real estate can benefit from this, not only from the ground but now from the air. And it's just a great new technology that I've been working with. And it's really exciting stuff. - That's right. I love watching these 360 videos and I think that they would add a great deal of value to anyone's reel. - Since this is such a new format this is a great opportunity to make some money off of it by using it for social media platforms. Social media has really integrated the 360 platform. A lot of companies and businesses will utilize the 360 just for simple marketing. - Absolutely, I have seen a ton of these videos on Facebook and on YouTube and all of that. And I got to tell you, I can't imagine anyone not profiting from making three 60 videos using the drone.
